Speech Sound Errors (Articulation Errors)

Children or adults may say sounds incorrectly, substitute incorrect sounds, leave sounds out completely, or change a sound  in their words making them difficult to be understood. According to research, most children can say most speech sounds correctly by 4 years of age.

Direct speech therapy targeting the way to make these sounds and allowing time for the child to produce the sounds correctly can greatly improve their speech sounds and increase their ability to fully express themselves to those around them.

Speech sound errors that are not corrected are likely to begin impacting reading, spelling, and writing skills as the child gets older.
